Use, Maintenance and Care of PH Electrode Probe
Preparation Before Use
Remove the protection bottle from the top of the electrode and store it properly for later use.
Clean the white deposited salt on the outside of the electrode with deionized water.
To ensure the proper penetration rate, the liquid level inside the tube should submerge the end of the spiral glass tube and be at least 1 inch (2.5cm) above the sample liquid level; when in use, place the bulb end of the electrode into the measured liquid to ensure full contact between the bulb and the liquid, promoting the ion reaction.
Gently shake the electrode (just like shaking a thermometer) to remove air bubbles inside the electrode.
Soak the electrode in the pH electrode storage solution for 1 hour; if there is no electrode storage solution, 1gKCl can be added to 200mL of pH7 buffer solution as a temporary electrode storage solution. When the electrode is not in use, a long - term preservation solution can be prepared to activate and protect the bulb end. The formula: Add 10mL of 3.3Kcl solution to 200mL of pH4 buffer solution (3.3KCL is saturated potassium chloride, 23 grams of potassium chloride is mixed with 100ml of deionized water, and an appropriate amount of preservative can be added).
